Sunday School
Sunday School is a vital part of the Ministry of Temple Baptist Church. Sunday School provides a small group setting where the Bible can be taught and applied to a specific age group. A small group allows opportunity for the teacher to minister to the needs of his or her class. Sunday School leads the way in putting into practice the belief that everyone is to minister in some way to some one else. Sunday School is the main outreach ministry of the Church and we believe strongly in the concept of "Building the Church Through Sunday School".
FIVE KEYS TO SUNDAY SCHOOL SUCCESS
The Sunday School Ministry At Temple Baptist Church Uses Five Simple Keys To Sunday School Success. We Have Found Them Very Effective In Producing A Growing Sunday School.
- The First Key Is To Teach The Bible. This Is The Primary Goal For The Sunday School. The King James Version Of The Bible Is Our Textbook. Emphasis Is Placed On Not Just Teaching Bible Facts But Teaching Principles That Pertain To Living For Christ On A Daily Basis.
- The Second Key Is Outreach. The Commission Given To The Church Is To Go Into All The World And Reach The Lost And Teach Them To Do Likewise. It Is Important That Every Sunday School Class Have And Outreach To Bring New People Into Their Class.
- The Third Key Is Discipleship. We Must Show People How The Bible Applies To Their Lives And Disciple Them In Their Walk With Christ. Discipleship Is An Important Key To Building An Effective Sunday School In A Local Church.
- The Forth Key Is Shepherding. Each Teacher And Class Has The Responsibility To Oversee The Flock Which Is Their Sunday School Class And Ministry In Times Of Sickness, Bereavement Or Other Needs. In This Manner We Are Able To Provide Small Groups For A More Personal Contact And Ministry.
- The Fifth Key Is Fellowship. Although We Have Several Church Wide Fellowship Meals Each Year The Sunday School Provides Times For Members To Meet More Often And In Smaller Groups.
"Building A Church Through The Sunday School" Is A Means Of Building The Church Both In Numerical Growth And In Building A Foundation Of Biblical Teaching. |
